Mia MacDonald, Brighter Green’s Executive Director, has joined to the Executive Committee of the New York City Group of the national environmental organization, the Sierra Club. Nationally, the Sierra Club has 1.3 million members. The NYC Group represents more than 15,000 members in the city’s five boroughs. The Club’s national priority is work on global climate change.
MacDonald has also been appointed to the Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter’s Food & Farm Committee, which works on issues related to factory farming, sustainable food systems, expanding access to local and organic food from NY state farms, and the links between food and climate change. The Atlantic Chapter represents about 45,000 members.
