Mia MacDonald recently attended the 2012 Animals and Society Institute and Wesleyan University’s Animal Studies initiative’s Fellowship Program conference at Wesleyan. Seven fellows are pursuing a range of projects exploring human-animal relationships, from orangutans and autonomy in Indonesia to the lives of “village dogs” in Mexican villages, to (the project Mia is a mentor for), veterinary ethics: food, economy, conservation, and welfare. Important and exciting work underway.
