Brighter Green Visits One of the Young Women Participating in the East African Young Women’s Leadership Initiative

Brighter Green’s Executive Director Mia MacDonald was recently in Kenya to represent the U.S. Board of Africa Network for Animal Welfare [ANAW] at their tenth anniversary celebrations in Nairobi on Monday, May 30th. While there, she was able to meet up with Ledaiki Ann Nailantei who is part of the East African Young Women’s Leadership Initiative, a joint project of New York-based non-profit organizations Brighter Green and Tribal Link, in partnership with three indigenous non-governmental organizations Parakuiyo Pastoralists Indigenous Community Development Organization (PAICODEO) in Tanzania, and Simba Maasai Outreach Organization (SIMOO) and the Indigenous Information Network (IIN) in Kenya. Ann is training as a ranger in an anti-poaching program with Kenya Wildlife Service.
