Caroline Wimberly Speaks at PS 244Q Family Night

Caroline Wimberly spoke about Brighter Green’s work, especially in China, at PS244 in Flushing, Queens yesterday. The school has gained attention for being the first public school in the United States to serve exclusively vegetarian meals. The school made the transition in 2013, and has been lauded by kids and health experts alike. Similar programs have launched in another school in New York and a private school in California. Both schools in New York transitioned with the help of the Coalition for Healthy School Food, a nonprofit that introduces plant-based foods and nutrition education in schools to educate the whole school community.
