Young Women’s Program Summer Breaks

Young Women’s Program Summer Breaks

June marked the middle of the second term for the Kenyan women’s academic calendar, and the end of the first term for the Tanzanian women.

The Kenyan women had a mid-term short break between June 27 and July 1 (pictured below). Daniel Salau reported that the young women, “have developed a good attitude and are increasingly aware that so much is expected of them. They are willing and ready to take up the challenge.”

The academic calendar in Tanzanian schools is changing, so the Tanzanian women had a break from June 22 through July 8, and will break again for another two weeks in mid-August to pave way for the national census. The young women are adapting to the changes with the assistance of program leaders, and are currently back in school.
