On Earth Day this year, US President Joe Biden gathered global leaders for a virtual climate summit: the first of its kind to be convened by a US leader. Through this summit, and as the UN Climate Change Conference and UN Food Systems Summit approach, we have an opportunity to reimagine how we as humans interact with the natural world, while acknowledging that inequities continue through the disproportionate impact of climate change on the global South, unequal access to the Covid-19 vaccine, and the unjust treatment of animals, both farmed and wild.
