Brighter Green joined ProVeg International, the 50by40 network, and members of more than 160 leading civil society groups advocating for global food systems change at the UNFCC level for many years in demanding sustainable catering at COP27, which will be held in Egypt.
The world’s food systems create nearly one third of global greenhouse gas emissions. We can’t continue serving food that supports the status quo—food systems that are inhumane, unjust, and unsustainable. This year’s COP will, for the first time, focus on food systems as a source of greenhouse gas emissions.
Brighter Green will be joining in support of the first-ever food pavilion, the Food4Climate Pavilion, at the upcoming COP. At the next climate conference, Brighter Green is demanding that we set an example by serving sustainable, plant-based, and locally sourced food. Read the joint letter Brighter Green signed on to.
