Judy Bankman was a Research Intern for the Brighter Green Public Health Project from summer to fall 2013. The Brighter Green Public Health Project aims to investigate how the Western diet in the global South is contributing to an increase in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Judy holds a Bachelor’s in History from the University of Michigan and has lived and worked in southern Mexico and Madrid, Spain. She received a Master's degree in Public Health Nutrition at New York University in 2014, with a focus on food sovereignty and sustainable food systems. Later in 2014, she worked as a field organizer for the People's Climate March through Avaaz, as well as Wellness in the Schools.
