From 2007, Brighter Green partnered with the Nairobi, Kenya–based Indigenous Information Network (IIN). Founded in 1996, IIN works on development issues that affect and impact Indigenous peoples and local communities, with a focus on women, girls, children, youth and other vulnerable members of our communities. Brighter Green helped produce the inaugural 2007 and 2008 issue of IIN’s Environmental News, which offered a unique window into how the world’s Indigenous peoples are experiencing, and responding to, ecological change. The 2008 issue focused on protected areas (national parks and reserves), traditional knowledge, and the ongoing challenges of climate change.
